Bringing Memories to Life Through Photography at Lambton House
Recently, I had the privilege of adding my photography on the walls of Lambton House, a wonderful care home that provides residential and dementia care. My collection featured various beloved locations from around the North East – from coastal views to iconic landmarks with the aim to help them with dementia.
The reaction from the residents was heartwarming and deeply touching. As they explored the photographs, their faces lit up with recognition and nostalgia. Many shared stories of trips they had taken or moments they had spent in those familiar places. For some, the images sparked conversations about their favourite walks, childhood adventures, or even first dates.
It was incredible to see how these photos became a bridge to the past, unlocking precious memories that might have been tucked away for years. The conversations flowed, and the room was filled with warmth, laughter, and even a few tears of joy.
This experience reminded me of the profound power of photography – not just as an art form, but as a way to connect people, evoke emotions, and bring back cherished memories. Knowing that these images brought comfort and happiness to the residents of Lambton House made it all worth while, job done!
